Probst Group's JoAnna Hodgson to deliver final Membrane Technology Forum speech

May 22, 2023

JoAnna Hodgson will deliver the final speech titled Real World Experience with MBR Operations in Wastewater – Performance and Application during the Membrane Technology Forum on June 14 from 4:30-5 p.m. at The Marriott City Center in Minneapolis.

JoAnna Hodgson is the Mechanical Engineer and Membrane Product Specialist for The Probst Group. She has worked on membrane systems for over 8 years, with a focus on the treatment of dairy and food processing wastewater via tubular ultrafiltration systems. JoAnna's responsibilities include design, implementation, and equipment maintenance for industrial wastewater operations with membrane bioreactors. She works closely with clients to analyze key performance indicators and troubleshoot system problems.

As the popularity of utilizing membrane technology in the treatment of industrial wastewater increases, The Probst Group has a unique understanding of every phase of successfully implementing and operating of a variety of membrane types and configurations.

During this session, Probst will share our collective experiences related to the performance and application of membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology in both aerobic and anaerobic industrial wastewater treatment processes. In addition to a brief introduction to membranes and comparison of Solid-Liquid-Separation (SLS) methods and the long term performance we’ve experienced, we’ll discuss challenges that our team has experienced as well as solutions, and the final results.

Although all are invited to attend, processors plant managers and engineers are likely to find the speech most pertinent. But it may be a beneficial session for anyone who is looking to improve their wastewater treatment – whether the idea of membranes for treating their process wastewater is a totally new idea (as I’m under the impression that most processors are familiar with it as part of the production process), or are just starting to look at wastewater treatment options, or for folks who are in need of making upgrades to an existing system to improve performance.

The Membrane Technology Forum is presented by Dairy Foods and the American Dairy Products Institute.
